Bread Pudding

Two posts ago, I made a loaf of challah bread for stuffed french toast. I had a quarter of the loaf left over after making the french toast so I refrigerated the bread for my family to eat. Days later… still two slices left. What to do with 2 slices of thick bread…. bread pudding anyone??

Never made bread pudding before, but I’ve tried it at restaurants. I found this easy looking recipe from allrecipes.com and just scaled it down to use 2 slices of bread.

Stuffed French Toast

A while back, C and I were watching ‘Throw-down’ with host Bobby Flay and the challenge was stuffed french toast. His challenger made a delectable strawberry-guava stuffed french toast, encrusted with corn flakes and almond slivers… looked mouth-watering delicious… I wanted it, well, we both did. After months of deliberation, finally attempted to make stuffed french toast, but a simpler version w/o all the bells and whistles.

My kind of breakfasttt

Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day… wakes me up, its simple, don’t have to think at all, and its quick. About a year ago, I began making my own bread and have been experimenting with different bread recipes ever since. After I started my bread craze, I decided that I was only going to eat bread that I made… and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since. I usually make 2 loaves, slice them up, and put them both in the freezer. Every morning, I take a slice or two out to have for breakfast…. See, my breakfast is simple… its ALWAYS bread and coffee.. no thinking required.
