Oh Christmas… how I miss that time of year. Beautiful decor, sugar-filled treats and holiday spirit…
I decided to make some treats last Christmas to give away as gifts. These included coloured ginger molasses cookies and s’mores with homemade marshmallows.
Dilemma: studying vs. blogging…. blogging won. I had a somewhat long study break the other day and ended up making these.
Think I’ve already mentioned how much I love the smell of fresh baking gingerbread… it’s so addicting – sweet, spicy goodness … need to invest in a gingerbread candle or something to enjoy this smell all year round.
So yah, if you haven’t already noticed the giant/ bright red and green signage plus many roaming Santas, Christmas is in exactly 21 days – the countdown is on! Do you know what you’re giving others for Christmas?? If you don’t, you should probably start thinking about it now because Christmas is going to be here in no time! Trust me, you don’t want to be left scrambling for a gift with hours left to gift exchange… that’s me like every year – I have issues when it comes to gift decisions. As a result of Xmas-gift stress, year after year, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that baked gifts are the way to go. Think about it, they’re not only easier to put together, but there’s also way more options (not to mention a slimmer chance that the recipient will dislike it!).
Which leads me to this post – Gingerbread Biscottis. Good gifting idea yeh?
Holy geez… Have not touched this thing in like a month! sheesh. Been a little busy, but its a little better now that the midterm marathon is over. Looking ahead by like a month – it’s already mid-november and christmas break is just around the corner! Woot woot, that’s exciting.
Love christmas and everything else that goes along with it. Decorations, trees, snow, lights – gorgeous… And, can’t forget about all the delectable treats… gingerbread, sugar, shortbread cookies…. yumm. I decided that it was that time of year again to whip out the molasses. Or, mol-ass-es… as my coworker used to say.
Here’s to you fall… I’m not a fan of how much it rains and really dislike chilly mornings… never a good way to start the day. But I guess a warm oven, filled with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves almost makes up for it.
I love the smell of pumpkin bread baking in the oven. There’s just something about this particular combination of spices that is uniquely awesome.
Sunday alreadyyyy? Ahhh… weekends pass by so fast…. So I had a GNO yesterday (girls night out, incase you didn’t catch that… ahha I had no idea what that meant either till yesterday!) and my two friends randomly mentioned that they check my blog everyday? =P ahhaha and I feel bad cause I don’t update this blog THAT frequently… sorry guys that you have to keep looking at my old entries lol… so… decided that I should do another post to keep you two interested =P
I’ve been wanting to make these muffins again just because they are so tasty and have some nutritional value to them… they are actually so good… tinge of spice/ sweetness…. Last time I made these, I discovered that I can actually finish a whole dozen of them by myself… yes… I know what you are prob thinking… oink? lol)… they are called Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins… my new favorite muffin recipe!… And no, I haven’t been saving a can of purred pumpkin since October! Decided I wanted to try this recipe about a month or two ago, so don’t worry, this pumpkin isn’t super old.. Unfortunately, Superstore only sells canned pumpkin in these honking huge cans… it’s a lot of pumpkin… real bang for your buck lol. Anyhow, I couldn’t use all that pumpkin in this recipe, so I split the can up into containers and froze the pumpkin for later use… convenient!
