I think everyone knows that whether you give or receive a homemade gift, its pretty awesome.
So for that next special occasion, why not give a cupcake as a gift?
I recently came up with an easy solution of how to transport individual cupcakes in my previous post here using a plastic drink lid as the base and a plastic cup as the cover. Building on that idea, I thought it would look even cuter and more professional if the cupcake had it’s own little ‘stand / base’, instead of a plastic drink lid. I personally prefer this version better than the drink lid, because it looks very clean, professional, you don’t need to keep a drink lid, and the base is a lot sturdier.
Things you’ll need:
- Foam board, cut into squares (2.5 x 2.5 inches)
- Small piece of aluminum foil
- Clear plastic Dixie cup
- Treat bag + tie
- Optional tag
Carefully cut your foam board into 2.5-inch squares using an exacto knife and ruler. You can usually find foam board at the dollar store or most local craft stores. If you can’t find this board, cardboard will work just fine. Next, cut a piece of aluminum foil an inch or two larger than the square, then carefully wrap the square up.
And there you have it … a super easy cupcake ‘base/ platform/ stand/ whatever you want to call it’. Since the rest of the directions are exactly the same as the previous post, I’ll link up the last post here!
Isn’t it super cute? And if you want to get real fancy… pop on a tag, write a cute message, and give it away as a gift!
I think these would look super cute as favours too – you can see exactly what’s inside, its easy to transport, completely sealed, and best of all, it is ready-to-eat.
Goodluck!
These are darling, and they would make great favors! Plus, they make the cupcake look so very special. I’ll have to pin this!
