The Christmas season is in full swing and our oven has been busy cranking out tray after tray of delectable sugar-filled Christmas delights !
And a new addition to the Christmas cookie line-up… Rugelach!
I still remember the first time I tried Rugelach cookies – it was at work, one of our coworkers brought in a white box filled with these small croissant-shaped cookies. They were absolutely delicious… crispier than a croissant, yet still flakey and rolled up with a sweet cinnamon and nut filling.
Going to be honest, they look pretty impressive, but they are really easy to make. I followed this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction – didn’t change a thing and I found her instructions and tips to be very helpful, especially because it was my first time making these cookies!
And now, time for some picture talk… we recently got a new camera and I’ve been itching to test it out (that is half of the reason why I went on a huge baking spree… to do the photoshoot!) Verdict… I quite like the photo quality of it! Plus its super small, compact and so light compared to my brother’s SLR that I used to use. It’s still a work in progress and we’ll probably have to spend more time learning how to properly use it… which will mean more baking, cooking and photo-shooting… but for now… I’m just going to stare at these pretty cookie pictures… and hope you’ll all try to make Rugulach cookies this holiday season!
