What sweet treat combines two of the most awesome flavors together?
Here’s a hint…
Did you guess?
If you guessed peanut butter cups, then you would be correct =]
Loveee Reese’s peanut butter cups… or maybe I just loveee the combination of peanut butter + chocolate in general… Both.
These treats require a bit of time, but well worth it in the end. If you’ve got some muffin liners, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and a little icing sugar, I’d say you’re set to make these homemade peanut butter cups.
- 1/2 (11.5 ounce) package milk chocolate chips, divided
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
Using mini cupcake liners, I was able to make a dozen cups with this recipe.
I was having some issues spooning the peanut butter mixture into the chocolate cups… mainly that it was just too messy. After struggling to neatly scoop the filling, I had a ‘light bulb’ moment to pipe the filling into the cup! Much easier (and tidier too!)
Notice the first 4 weird ones on the left…
3) Melt the remaining chocolate, and spoon over peanut butter. Spread chocolate to edges of cups.
And voila! Homemade peanut butter cups… a perfect Valentine’s Day treat idea for the chocolate + peanut lover in your life.
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone =]
Side note: Had a very nice surprise earlier, while I was still editing this post. C just so happened to be in the neighborhood and dropped these off =]
