Turtles, Onesies, and Hearts

Who doesn’t love cute, girly, pink cookies?

Made 2 small batches out of this batch of girly themed cookies. Planning to bring the baby themed batch (onesies and circles) to a baby shower this weekend and the other batch (turtles and circle hearts) is for Chris’ friend’s daughter, Ari. She’s a cutie… plus she loves C.. prob cause he’s like a big kid..

Started these cookies yesterday evening, and finished them today. Figured they should dry for at least 12 hours to prevent the colors from bleeding and what not. I usually use 1 icing consistency for both piping and filling, but went with 2 consistencies this time. Think the finish is nicer with 2 consistencies.. looks sharper, especially if your planning to pipe details.

Drying

Think I’ve said this before, but I love this turtle cutter! Cute shape, bite-sized, and it was a good deal (Daiso!). Skipped the ‘attitude’ details for this batch… didn’t want to ruin the cuteness and have them looking like these guys.

Turtles

Really happy about how the onesie details turned out too. These definitely look sharper compared to the boy themed onesies, that I made for Ethan. Even though it’s a little more work/ dirty dishes, its worth making a stiffer icing for details… overcome the laziness!

Onesies

PS – Congrats Grace & Jason! Can’t wait to meet your new baby girl!
